I was experimenting some years ago with my helium-neon laser tubes (old cash register model from IBM) &#8230; I got the dumb idea of trying to deflect the 50mw beam back into the tube by using a front surface mirror to simply force the beam back through the tube&#8217;s own end mirror (to check for interference &c). The interesting thing is that the beam repels itself in a really spooky way&#8230;
