Occasionally, I will unwittingly break some grammatical rule and be politely chastised in immaculate prose by a reader, whereupon I humbly promise not to repeat the crime. For, at a lower level, I too have grimaced at lost apostrophes and the maddening use of “bored of” instead of “bored with”: I can only aspire to know enough to be irritated by more. |
