The horse I’m on in this picture is called Merely a Monarch. I’d ridden at Badminton about half a dozen times on various horses, but I’d entered him at Burghley having no intention of actually riding him. I’d been training with another horse, but he’d fallen by the wayside. Merely had no experience and he was only six years old, but I knew he was extra special. |
